Child Development Center

WPUNJ Sock Drive

The children at the WPU Child Development Center helped their community by collecting socks for needy homeless children.  All sock donations were given to Covenant House in Newark.  Covenant House is the largest provider of services to homeless youth in the State of New Jersey.

The children, families, and friends worked together to collect over 700 pair of socks.  Each day, the children looked forward to receiving a package filled with new socks.  They counted each pair of socks and used links to represent how many socks they collected.

In addition to thanking our WPU community and families, we would also like to thank the families, children, and staff at the Bergen Community College Child Development Center and The Am Tree Developmental Preschool for their participation and generous donations.

We counted how many socks we recieved everyday and gathered them into our "big" sock.

We delievered the socks to Francisco in the student center.

Children, Teachers and Mary Napolitano, owner of AmTree Preshool with socks and generous donations!

We used links to represent the number of socks we collected.

Thank you for helping us help children who need socks!
