As firms have begun to recover from the recent financial crisis, they are placing an even greater emphasis on the role of professional sales.  Nowhere is this more evident than in the new economy.  We have invited senior executives from the financial services, commercial real estate, and solar energy industries to share their insights about the role of professional sales and fundamental changes in the conduct of business.  They will discuss the impacts of new and emerging technologies, workforce and customer diversity, ethics and sustainability, and globalization on industries, organizations, and individuals in the economy.  Join them in a lively discussion about the changing role of sales professionals in the new economy.

High Technology Conference Panelist - Rajiv Kashyap

Rajiv Kashyap has spent the last 17 years in academia in various administrative roles, as the Interim Dean, Associate Dean and chair of the Marketing and Management department at William Paterson University.  Prior to joining academia, Rajiv was a management consultant and technology entrepreneur, providing customized solutions to corporations in Asia and the Far East.  His current research focuses on understanding the impacts of marketing strategy and CSR initiatives on financial performance.  His previous employment includes tenure track positions at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, MA and Indian Purdue University at Fort Wayne, IN.

Jeffrey Buonforte

Mr. Buonforte has been with Lakeland Bank for 15 years and his responsibilities include the oversight of Government Banking, Wealth Management, Cash Management and Business Development. Mr. Buonforte has over 35 years of corporate sales and retail banking experience, with most of his knowledge of branch sales, nontraditional banking products, and new business development attained at National Community Bank and its successor, Bank of New York as Vice President and Regional Manager of the South
Bergen County and Hudson County market.

Mr. Buonforte was Director of Sales and Marketing for Computerland, Secaucus NJ and was an Account Executive for Merrill Lynch, Paramus, NJ. He holds a B.S. degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Economics and Accounting from Nichols College, Dudley, Massachusetts. and a graduate, with honors, of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, University of Delaware. He is a Certified Financial Planner and holds a Series 7 and 63 FINRA license. 

Mr. Buonforte is currently the Marketing Chair and Trustee of the Passaic County 200 Club, a William Paterson University Business College advisory board member, an advisory board member of Montclair State University's Music College and formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce and the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce.

Jeff Hipschman

Since starting his career on Wall Street, Jeff Hipschman has developed a unique skill set focused on the creative development, management, and expansion of multi-disciplined organizations. Tapping his 20 plus years of broad business experience spanning Information Technology, Operations, HR, Finance, Legal and specialized brokerage transactions, Jeff brings a comprehensive management perspective to his role of Senior Managing Director, overseeing 165 professionals in three locations that comprise CBRE New Jersey operations.  Mr. Hipschman is responsible for the management of all business lines across New Jersey, as well as all operating and support units, including: Office and Industrial Brokerage, Asset Services, Project Management, Investment Properties, Research, Marketing, Legal and Finance.  In 2013, CBRE New Jersey completed over 738 lease transactions totaling over 16.2 million square feet (office and industrial), and 38 sales transactions totaling over 6.1 million square feet (office and industrial). Jeff is a proud alumnus of William Paterson University.

Jim Kloster

During Jim's tenure as EVP, Amberjack has grown into 7 new markets to become one of the nation's largest solar integrators. One of his core responsibilities is to develop primary partnerships that strengthen Amberjack's offering to clients. Some of the methodologies Jim employs for achieving initiatives include working with investment firms, private equity, manufacturers, government agents/authorities, developers and ultimately C-Level decision makers for the companies that own/host the projects.  Prior to joining Amberjack, Jim spent almost a decade in commercial real estate brokerage and development in the industrial and retail sectors. His experience in the real estate industry provided multiple synergies for a natural transition into the commercial renewable energy sector.  In his career, Mr. Kloster has also held positions in Neurological sales at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Sales/Management positions at two Fortune 1000 companies while earning multiple distinctions for leadership and business growth.  Jim holds a BA from the nation’s premier higher education institution, William Paterson University.
