Vice President, Special Assets, Valley National Bank
Many people are surprised to learn that a key word used to describe modern banking is: Change. The banking industry has undergone enormous changes over the last decade. New and updated regulations, such as Dodd-Frank, CRA AML and BSA have not only created new challenges but also new opportunities and positions within the industry. Mr. Cina will discuss the implications of the post-2008 regulatory environment and the career paths needed for these new opportunities.
John Cina holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. During his career, he has worked in special assets, commercial lending, and commercial credit and loan operations. During most of his career, he has worked in Special Assets where he manages a complex portfolio of commercial real estate loans, other commercial loans, and aviation. This includes working closely with the attorneys handling any litigation.
