Ronald Berkman, M.A. ’73, has spent virtually his entire career using academia to find solutions for problems in urban centers. Named the president of Cleveland State University in April 2009 after serving as provost of fast-growing Florida International University in Miami, he is using his skills as an urban planner and public affairs specialist to lead the sixteen thousand-student university in supporting Cleveland’s renewal and help make Cleveland state a premier urban research university.
