Early Alert Program
The Early Alert Program was developed to enable us to reach out to students who are struggling academically, financially, and/or possibly emotionally. A student is placed on Early Alert by the professor. Please follow the appropriate instructions below depending on whether you are an advisor or faculty member to access the Fall 2008 Early Alert Procedure.
Faculty Member Procedure:

- Sign on to WPConnect
- Click on the Faculty Tab
- Click on Early Alert for Faculty (Under Faculty Quick Links)
- Select Course by clicking on Show List
- To add a student, click on Add to Early Alert in the action column
- Fill in on-line version of the Early Alert Form
- Once the Early Alert form is submitted the Add to Early Alert link changes to Update/ Status. Throughout the semester you can change or add to the status of the Alert by posting comments to the form by selecting the Update link. You can also check the student’s status by clinking on the Status link.
- If a student’s name does not appear on your list, this means the student has already dropped the course.
- Early Alert process ends at the 10th week of the semester.
Advisor Procedure:

- Sign on to WPConnect
- Click on the Faculty Tab
- Click on Advisor Notes (Under Faculty Quick Links)
- Advisees placed on Early Alert will show as Listed in the Early Alert column.
- To view student, click the Listed tab in the Early Alert action column.
- Click Status to view comments.
- Throughout the semester you can add to the status of the Alert by posting comments to the form by selecting the Update link. You can also check the student’s status by clinking on the Status link.
