BAM! "The Blue Barrel Show"

North Indian Classical Music and Dance Concert
Saturday - 10/22/05 - 7:00 p.m.

Master musicians Pandit Ramesh Misra and Pandit Samir Chatterjee and master Kathak dancer Janaki perform traditional and new works. Kathak dance originated in north India and is characterized by quick footwork. Music is performed on the tabla, a pair of drums, and the sarangi, a unique string instrument.

Peru Negro
Saturday - 3/11/06 - 8:00 p.m.

As official "Ambassadors of Peruvian Culture," this Lima-based ensemble has enthralled sold-out houses worldwide. This show features a large-scale ensemble of performers in a colorful whirlwind of music and movement that celebrates Afro-Peruvian culture.
