Program coordinator: Dr. Diane Falk-Romaine
The music education concentration allows students to enhance teaching skills, undertake advanced research, statistical and writing projects, bring performance skills to a higher level, and gain greater personal insight into the field of music education.
The concentration also provides music educators with an increased understanding of the aesthetics of music coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of the historical, theoretical, and philosophical foundations upon which the profession is based.
In addition to developing pedagogical skills, graduate students in music education also increase their abilities in performance and are able to incorporate contemporary methodologies and technology into current education settings.
